VC&M is a daily syndicated network radio program hosted by talents Van Camp and Morgan. The 4 hour show is broadcast internationally across 12 stations.
In this section of my website, I showcase my scriptwriting, promotional material and on-air work that I created during my 10-week experience as executive producer for the show.

Affiliate Relations.
As the executive producer of Van Camp and Morgan, the growth of affiliates is of the utmost importance.
To maintain current show affiliates I drafted emails to send to update our partners on social media growth, "Best of Show Days", new show segments and specialty episodes like in the May the 4th be with you Star Wars specialty show, the Heavy Who Cares News show, the Disney Day, and the Funny Words Showcase.
External to the background work, I lead our social media intern in the creation and publication of content for the Facebook and Instagram platforms. For this work, I was in charge of scheduling and leading meetings among the team. I also completed the market research for the creation of the social media publishing schedule.
These affiliate efforts were made to grow our partners. While I have been on board as the producer for the show, the Van Camp and Morgan Show welcomed six new affiliate stations. These include the Hits 24/7 FM, The Mix 96, Play FM Online, Variety Digital Radio, Hot 97.7 FM, and Sweet Romance Network.
Scripts for Talents.
This is where the majority of my time and effort was spent during my experience.
While I have been writing copy for radio since my first year of college, this was the first time I had written for both commercial radio and someone else to present on-air. The Van Camp and Morgan Show talents use the scripts as a skeleton for their ad-lib presentations. The facts and information I collected were used to reinforce their positions and my commentary was expected within the scripts to give a third layer of perspective.
To write these pieces I used the station's prep services (The Complete Sheet and The Hookup) and utilized social media networks. I wrote an average of 6 stories per day. When a story was related to social media or technology news I utilized the comment sections of the social media platform in which the story had the most traction to add more voices to the conversation. When writing for Van Camp, I chose to write in a dad-joke ESC format to create his on-air character. Morgan’s character writing, however, fit the mould of a goofy gossip queen for her celebrity news segment called "Who Cares News”.
On-Air Work.
I was also able to participate as a third voice on the show.
Although it was not presented as one of my learning objectives within the position, it was valuable in my learning journey for commercial radio. When talking outside of the context of hard news it is okay to put on a persona. Van Camp and Morgan encouraged me to directly interject within their show to further build a rapport with the audience in their ad-lib format.
